If I say the verse outloud it helps, but I have learned verses if it was an assignment and I did that by word association. I too am a "sponge".Cyndihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14683338161151291239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8619960360822780022.post-34341815906058843842011-07-19T12:23:20.418-04:002011-07-19T12:23:20.418-04:00LOL, I am really bad about not shutting up around ...LOL, I am really bad about not shutting up around adults either. My poor husband is out of town this week. When he gets home I am liable to keep him up all night jabbering his ear off.

I find that I do not memorize as good as I used to. It has never been my strong point. I have to work very hard at it. Seth's Bible quizzing helps me more than anything! I can't wait to start that again. I learn right along with him.Miss Hillbillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13422851284570747539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8619960360822780022.post-88050369595690523862011-07-19T12:07:13.617-04:002011-07-19T12:07:13.617-04:00Jennifer that is awesome that you have such networ...Jennifer that is awesome that you have such networks - its so important for you as a Mum and a women to connect with others. Tonya I kind of fall in all areas - my husband calls me the SPONGE. But action is how I learn the best - by doing and reliving it through scriptures.

EvielynneJuneBug, Milta and SnowPeahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08816363038622562371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8619960360822780022.post-34124497255697535682011-07-19T08:29:57.769-04:002011-07-19T08:29:57.769-04:00Repetition is the way I learn, I love that Christi...Repetition is the way I learn, I love that Christian artist put scripture verses in some of their songs, it helps me remember them better. I too enjoy discussing scripture not only to help me remember but sometimes to understand what other get from the same verse. I truly love that about God's word one verse can speak to each of us differently!

Belinda I understand about the adult conversation...I have a daycare and all the children are 8 and under and I am in the children's area during SS too. I started a mom's group when my son was young, once he went to school so did all his little friends. So I had to find another when my daughter was born. We try to get together once a month to let the kids play and the moms some adult conversation!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08011523381044922553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8619960360822780022.post-88249120695718705182011-07-19T08:21:56.620-04:002011-07-19T08:21:56.620-04:00I am your artsy type person, and I love the visual...I am your artsy type person, and I love the visual picture drawn in these verses, but that is not how I learn scripture. I would remember the drawing but not what the scripture said. So, I have to write it out over and over, and read it repeatedly. And I have to focus on the task of memorizing, otherwise I just don't remember the biggest part of it, and certainly the reference. (It may just be part of growing old-er.)

I do learn precepts by discussing them with others. Sometimes reading them leaves me quickly, but if I discuss them with others, I am more likely to retain them. I bet my Sunday School class wishes I would just be quiet sometimes. Being alone or with a toddler all day every day tends to make me a chatterbox when I get around adults, and I "discuss" a lot. ;)Belindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13077173669350770709noreply@blogger.com
