While Paul was in the Roman prison, he wrote a letter to the church at Philippi, and in it he stated that he was praying for the Christians in Philippi:
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you,
I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first
day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you
will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:3-6)
Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing
songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church
to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer
offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he
has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray
for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful
and effective. (James 5:13-16)
Jesus even told us to pray for our enemies, and he prays for all of us in the passage in John 17. Truly we are to be people of prayer.Please take time to leave a comment today and let us know if you have a prayer request, or would like to tell us of a praise and answered prayer.

Well I do have a prayer request. As I have mentioned before my husband has severe silicosis which can be very painful some days. He has also been having trouble with his hips and knees. The pain has had him in terrible pain. He went to the doctor last week and his hip bone is locked. He is sending him to a orthopedic surgeon. The waiting time here in Canada can be months and if he has to have surgery it can be up to two years. So my prayer request is that he gets an appointment soon. When you see someone in pain and can't do anything for them is hard.

We found out last week that our daughter is 12 weeks pregnant. Lots of yippee's and woohoo's and happy dances going on, as you can imagine. However, she also has a fairly large fibroid, non-malignant growth on the outside of her uterus that is giving some concern, and will probably result in a c-section delivery. The doctors are monitoring her closely. Please pray that this growth won't cause any adverse problems.
