Here's hoping that all of you had a lovely, blessed, and happy Thanksgiving!
Come thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
I'll praise the mount I'm fixed upon it
Mount of thy redeeming love
Here I raise my Ebenezer
Hither by thy help I come
And I hope by thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wondering from the fold of God
He, to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood
O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee
Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above
Tune my heart to sing thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
I'll praise the mount I'm fixed upon it
Mount of thy redeeming love
Here I raise my Ebenezer
Hither by thy help I come
And I hope by thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wondering from the fold of God
He, to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood
O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee
Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above
I love the hymns you've been posting Jacque! There's nothing like the old favorites. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving gathering yesterday and were so thankful to be together. One of my sisters and her husband had to miss it, because he's been in icu at a local hospital since November 13th. Fortunately, he has been moved to a regular room, and we were able to take him some of the home cooked food he's been craving. We are thankful he is doing a bit better, but he has a long road to recovery ahead of him.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you, your family and all your readers! God bless you all. :)
I agree with Belinda..loving the hymns here. I miss them as it seems contemporary is the order of the day in an effort to attract young people it seems.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others! I too love the old hymns! And the choices have been inspired this week, Jacque. xx
