When we want to be doing this:
How can we get there?
How can we nurture that relationship and also nurture that young life in Christ?
Perhaps there is a child or teen in your life that you'd like to encourage.
What better way than to be an example in memorizing Scripture, and nudging them to memorize, as well. Those verses will guard them in ways we can't imagine, and at times we wouldn't think of. And the bond as we strive together in our memory work is wonderful . . . a time of laughter and camaraderie.
Here are some verses that will help the young people that you want to encourage and inspire:
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. (I Timothy 4:12)
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.14 Do everything in love. (I Corinthians 16:13-14)
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:9-10)
Excuse me, I'm on my way to my desk for some cards and a pen, so I can memorize these!
Have you a verse that's inspired you recently? Will you share it with us?
These are wonderful verses! Yes, great ones to memorise!
