Prayer requests

During my prayer times this week, I have been telling our Father just how grateful I am for all of the things that are "ordinary." Things that perhaps we might not think of, as things to rejoice in. But still things that are blessings, that bring ease and joy to life.

Is anyone else "crazy" like me, and when I crawl between the covers and hear the dishwasher rumbling and washing the evening's dishes, I lift up a prayer of thanks?

Anyone else thank the Lord when they hear the clothes washer and dryer humming, doing their jobs, and keeping us from the struggles that women had a hundred years ago?

Does anyone else look into the freezer and breathe a "thank you" to the One Who blesses us so mightily?

I bet I'm not the only one!
And the Lord is happy with our praises!

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.
(Psalm 91)

Praise the Lord!!

  1. Oh goodness...I thank Him each morning for giving me the night...and then, for the morning. I thank Him for my home, food, warmth, and the car...I thank Him when I start out on a walk that he brought me to a Christian surgeon. And saw me through a life threatening time. I thank Him for giving me the ability after a decade without, to even take a walk. He is SO Good.

  2. You aren’t the only one. I thank Him that he chose to have us live when we do, with all the benefits of this time of the world, medical, technological etc. I thank Him for a family that loves one another and treats one another with love, rather than the abuse I grew up with. I thank Him for our home, here with our daughter and son-in-law and grand daughter.I thank Him for a husband who passionately loves the Lord and seeks to serve Him. I pray constantly that our son would come to know the Lord and His salvation.

  3. When I give myself time to think about it, I thank the Lord for providing for me when I couldn’t provide for myself, that I live in a beautiful part of the world, that there are people who care for me and look out for me! :-)
