It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas all around us. Trees are trimmed, lights and candles lit, presents wrapped and stowed in closets to stymie the efforts of children who would open and re-wrap them. (Grin)
Seriously, though, the greatest Christmas gift was God's Gift to humans . . . wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger, Christ Jesus was that gift. Years after his mother "pondered" in her heart and dreamed about what her baby boy would become, He hung on a Roman cross and offered His lifeblood for sinners.
I'm a country girl, and I like this rendition of an old favorite: "Nothing but the Blood of Jesus."
His blood is our only hope.
It is life.
It is Christmas.
