What are you listening to?

This week, let's share what hymns or songs have been a blessing to us. We are told to be
speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, (Ephesians 5:19)
and Paul also said,
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:16-17)
The reality of God and Christ and creation and salvation and heaven and hell are simply too great for mere speaking; they must also be sung.

What are you listening to? And are you singing to Him?

  1. One of my favourite singer/songwriters is Michael Card. I listen to him a lot, whether in my sewing studio, the car, or the apartment. One of his songs, called "Jubilee" compares our Lord to the year of Jubilee God gave to the Hebrews in the old testament. It has a verse in it that goes:

"To be so completely guilty, given over to despair
To look into your Judge's face and see a Saviour there"

Every time that song comes on, I belt out the words along with with the music, in complete and utter gratitude.

Let Them See You by JJ Weeks Band

Let them see You in me let them hear You when I speak
Let them feel You when I sing
Let them see You, let them see You in me.
