What are you listening to, today?

Are you singing with joy today? Are you making melody in your heart, and does that spill over your lips as you hum and sing to the Lord?
Music is an important part of how we worship our Father, and it keeps our thoughts turned toward Him.
I re-read this passage in Isaiah (Chapter 35), and wanted to share it with you:

                        The desert and the parched land will be glad;
                        the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
                        Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom;
                        it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.
                        The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
                        the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;
                        they will see the glory of the Lord,
                        the splendor of our God.
                        Strengthen the feeble hands,
                        steady the knees that give way;
                        say to those with fearful hearts,
                        "Be strong, do not fear;
                        your God will come, he will come with vengeance;
                        with divine retribution he will come to save you."
                        Then will the eyes of the blind be opened
                        and the ears of the deaf unstopped.
                        Then will the lame leap like a deer,
                        and the mute tongue shout for joy.
                        Water will gush forth in the wilderness
                        and streams in the desert.
                        The burning sand will become a pool,
                        the thirsty ground bubbling springs.
                        In the haunts where jackals once lay,
                        grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.
                        And a highway will be there;
                        it will be called the Way of Holiness;
                        it will be for those who walk on that Way.
                        The unclean will not journey on it;
                        wicked fools will not go about on it.
                        No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast;
                        they will not be found there.
                        But only the redeemed will walk there,
                        and those the Lord has rescued will return.
                        They will enter Zion with singing;
                        everlasting joy will crown their heads.
                        Gladness and joy will overtake them,
                        and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Surely that is enough to set us to singing!
So, what are you listening to, today?

  1. I've been listening to a lot of Michael Card lately. I have one album of his that is my go-to, called Joy in the journey. One of the songs I like best is called Jubilee.
    The Lord provided for a time for the slaves to be set free
    For the debts to all be canceled so His chosen ones could see
    His deep desire was for forgiveness, He longed to see their liberty
    And His yearning was embodied in the Year of Jubilee

    Chorus:
    Jubilee, Jubilee
    Jesus is our Jubilee
    Debts forgiven
    Slaves set free
    Jesus is our Jubilee

    At the Lord's appointed time His deep desire became a man
    The heart of all true jubilation and with joy we understand
    In his voice we hear a trumpet sound that tells us we are free
    He is the incarnation Of the year of Jubilee

    (Chorus)

    To be so completely guilty, given over to despair
    To look into your judges face, and see a Savior there

    (Chorus)

    I especially love that last line about our Judge being our Saviour.
