Verses that inspire

Are you in a hurry?

Are you rushed?

Frazzled by the cares and conflicts of this world that we live in?

Take a moment. Breathe. And read these verses of inspiration:

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18 because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval. Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. (Romans 14:17-19)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God,which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

Practice the "way" of peace within our own circles of influence.  How do we do that?

Make certain that we leave enough time for each task that we must complete.
Drop conversations that are getting out of hand. Agree to disagree.
Make sure that we are the ones who appear calm, and collected. Instead of getting flustered, and responding quickly (and perhaps sinfully) to insults, let's take a moment to remember that we want to be Christ-like.

Have you some verses to share, that have inspired, comforted, or chastened you recently?

  1. I read this one this morning, form Psalm 40. What great hope and what a great promise.

    11 As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain
    your mercy from me;
    your steadfast love and your faithfulness will
    ever preserve me!

  2. For me it is James 1:19 "Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;"

    I need to remember this daily!
