Prayer requests

As we pray today, let's remember all those who are working in some way to stop the corruption and the erosion of our liberties. Those who stand up for our liberties merit our thanks and our assistance.
This can be everyone from the soldier on the field to the worker on the base back home. It can be elected officials who still cherish the rule of law. It can be the volunteers who champion the cause of honest elections.

We can help them to bear their burdens; we can offer our hand as they work. We will find that their burden is made lighter, and that we fulfill the law of Christ.
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)

Our own joy will be increased, and their job will be easier to finish.

But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. (Philippians 2:17)

Remember in Exodus, when Joshua was fighting Amalek? Picture in your mind, Moses standing with his arms raised, and praying to YAHWEH that his strength would hold out. When his arms were raised, the army of the children of Israel would be able to fight and overcome the enemy. If his arms tired, the army of Amalek would gain strength and push Joshua's forces back. Aaron and Hur came to help Moses, and held up his arms.

Let's be like Aaron and Hur, and help bear the burdens of those who are fighting for us. Let's pray for all of those who fight for freedom and for those who carry the gospel to all the corners of the earth.
