2 Timothy 3:16

I chose this Bible verse as kind of the focus verse for the blog.
Let's read it again.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.

Why do you study Scripture? Is it so that you will get a warm and fuzzy feeling inside? Well, you had better back out now, because I never knew 'reproof or correction' to be warm and fuzzy!

If you plan on continuing from here...you WILL have your toes stepped on.

Satan and his demons WILL try to help you find excuses to quit, give up, or get offended (most likely because your toes were stepped on about something you should be doing differently!)

Grab yourself a journal for the upcoming study and rewrite 2 Timothy 3:16 in your own words. Right them here in the comments if you care to.

And start praying now that your heart will be prepared to be molded, instructed, reproofed, and girded up for battle---and you will be blessed more than you can imagine if you do!

  1. That is one of my favorite scriptures! There are so many who question the Bible. They pick it apart, use what they want and discard the rest. Or they question God's actions in it.
As I sit here and think, I believe the truth about why I study, is because I know it's what God wants. And I know it needs to be more that I want to know God.

"All scripture is from and by God. Its purpose is to teach, convict and guide me in His ways and will."

  3. With the way our culture is going, I fear for society. I know how I feel about what is right and what is wrong, and when I am confronted by non-believers, I want to back up what I say with God's teachings, but I know very little about the Bible and where to find specific verses. I want to know what I'm talking about, and be able to spread the "Word" correctly.

  4. It may take us some time but I plan on going through the whole Bible! You aren't the only one that has trouble finding specific verses.

I grew up going to a Christian school, Bible class daily, Memory verses as part of school, Bible quizzing, memorizing entire chapters...but I have not done well at keeping them fresh. I need to refresh my Bible memory as well.

I will add a few verses up top under a page button to help all of us, but allow me some time...I probably won't have complete time to myself to do this until Sunday.
