Verses that have helped

I'd like to encourage everyone who stops by the blog today to pause a moment and leave a specific comment: tell us a verse that has meant a great deal to you in the past week.

So many of us are facing similar challenges, heartaches and joys -- the verse that helped you this week might be just what another woman needs to hear!

I'll share one to get us started . . .

Psalm 37:4-5
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
There are things going on in our lives that we may not understand at this time; but as Charles Stanley often preached, we must not fret or whine. We need to ask ourselves, "What is my Father trying to teach me in this situation?"  There must be a reason, for He tells us that even though we don't understand, we must accept that . . .
"My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the LORD. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. Isaiah 55:8
Share with us a verse or two that has inspired, comforted, or challenged you. God may use it to help someone else, too!

You picked two of my verses, Jacque!! lol Another is:
Jn 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

This has a special meaning for me this week x

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

These verses give me much comfort. And the statement of someone I used to know. "Nothing happens in this world that hasn't first passed through the hand of God. Either God caused it, or He allowed it for His own purpose."

God's peach and comfort to you all this week. :)
