Prayer requests

Many of us are so very tired.

Exhausted.

We need a break.

We are so weary it's hard to pray. Our minds are moving so slowly.

Here's a passage that will encourage us all:

Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things, about which God spoke by the mouths of His holy prophets from ancient times. (Act 3:19-21, NASB)

We are promised "times of refreshing" from our Lord. Not just one event, but multiple seasons of renewal and joy!

It's not that our repentance purchases our refreshment, but that it opens the gate -- like an old wooden irrigation gate removed from a trench, it allows the flooding of the dry fields (our souls) with the water of heavenly love and goodness.

Lord, we repent of our times of unbelief. Our times of treating your commands like suggestions. Our half-hearted worship. Our critical and unforgiving hearts.

Father, you have wiped out all of our past sins by the cross of Jesus, but have mercy on us for our present sins. We have no other righteousness moving forward. No hope without our Savior. We long for the day when He will return; but for today, bring our sins to mind and nudge us to repent. May we be clean vessels, ready for the times of refreshing that You have promised.

We will ever thank you, Lord, and give you all the glory. Amen.
