What are you listening to today?

Some days do you feel like a hamster in a cage?

Are you spinning your wheels and not getting anywhere?

Take a break.

Take a breath.

Listen to a song or some music that will direct your thoughts toward God.

                             Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would
                             take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul;
                             he would feel better.... (I Samuel 16:23a)

                             He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our
                             God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in
                             him.  (Psalm 40:3)

We have many examples in the Bible of music and singing. Jesus even sang with his disciples. When you feel you're getting nowhere, when peace has escaped your grasp, take a moment to breathe deeply; breathe a prayer, too, of thankfulness. Then take a moment to listen to your choice of music, or think of a hymn that means a lot to you. Hum the tune, think on the words.

You'll feel much better.

And your day will go more smoothly after that.  That's the voice of experience talking. (Grin)

What are you listening to, today?

  3. Unfortunately haven't been listening to anything today. We just got home and finished unpacking the car from a very cold and wet camping trip. The sun and the warmth came out in time for us to come home. ;-)
