Heart day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!
Happy Heart Day!!

In many countries across the globe, people are gifting cards and flowers and chocolates and more to those they love. They scrutinize cards for just the right words; they peruse the shelves looking for the perfect candy, the one their loved one prefers.

I'm afraid that the greatest Love in the world may be forgotten. As is so often the case, Jesus gets second priority amidst the holiday merrymaking.

I wanted Jesus to know that I love Him. I wanted Him to know that I'm grateful for His love to me.
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. (I John 4:9-13)
He loves each of us -- sinners and believers.
who shows no partiality to princes    and does not favor the rich over the poor,
for they are all the work of his hands? (Job 34:19)
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.  (Ephesians 2:4-5)
I set aside my work and correspondence and actually wrote down some thoughts . . . almost like a love letter.
Now, there are many ways that we can tell Jesus we love Him. We can worship Him with song, with prayer, and with meditation on His Word.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.Praise the Lord. (Psalm 150:6)
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. (Hebrews 13:15)
You may not be inspired to write a letter. You may choose other ways to show your thankfulness and love. Just make it a point this Valentine's Day to tell the One Who loves you best, that you adore Him and are grateful to Him.

Jesus, I love you!

  1. Thank you for the reminder. I so often forget or just don't think to tell the Lord I love Him! xx
