Verses that inspire us

Oh soul, are you weary and troubled?

No light in the darkness you see?

I hope these words are familiar to you....this great old hymn is such an encouragement! As we begin our studies in I Peter, the themes of traveling to our home, and the trials along the way, are woven into our verses we will study.

These verses encouraged me as I studied:
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,
who daily bears our burdens. Our God is a God who saves;    from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death. You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary, the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.Praise be to God!(Psalm 68:19,20,35)
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. (Romans 5:3-5)
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.  (Hebrews 10:36)
Yes, our feet are tired. We may be bone-weary at times. But He sees, and He strengthens. And His promises never, ever fail!

Praise Him!

If a verse or passage has been of comfort or inspiration to you recently, won't you leave a comment to encourage others?

Blessings to all who read here.....

  1. I come back to this one, over and over again. Isaiah 40:31. And the verses around it make it all the more thrilling and comforting. I may grow tired and weary, but our God never does,

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
