Advent lesson - M&Ms!

I found this idea in several places on the Interwebs, so I'm unable to give credit where credit is due....but the idea is so fun, and such a great way to witness!
We mentioned yesterday that we should endeavor to witness and to spread the gospel during this season that can become frantic....to ask God to help us recognize opportunities to witness.
During the Christmas season, the M&Ms candies come in festive red and green colors, and can be purchased in small packages, great for handing out.

Why not attach a small note to it, and give them to cashiers weary from customers, moms exhausted from the demands of kids, or anyone that could use a lift -- and pass along the gospel at the same time?

Here is the poem that I spotted in several posts on the internet:

As you hold these candies in your hand,
And turn them you will see
The M becomes a W, and E and then a 3
They tell the Christmas story,
It's one I'm sure you know
It took place in a stable a long, long time ago
The E is for the East, where the star shone so bright
The M is for the manger where Baby Jesus slept that night
The 3 is for the wise men, bearing gifts they say they came
W is for Worship, Hallelujah, Praise His Name
So as you eat these candies or share them with a friend
Remember the meaning of Christmas it's a Love Story that never ends

At the end of the poem, you might want to include a verse of scripture, or a line or two of text. That text could be a very short summary of Jesus' coming to earth and redeeming us, or it could be encouraging the recipient to contact a church group or someone who can point them in the right direction.

It's a small seed; it may find fertile ground in someone's heart and grow. They may receive Jesus because we took a moment to smile and hand them a pack of M&Ms and a poem.
